Migrate a Podcast to PodOps
Migrate a Podcast to PodOps

This guide provides a simple process for importing your podcast feed, ensuring a smooth transition.

Updated this week

Let’s get moving! The first step is to create an account by visiting www.podopshost.com/register.

From the Creator Identity screen select Podcast Creator.

Use Sign Up With Google or Complete all required fields and click Create Account.

After submitting the form, you will receive an email with a link to verify your email is valid. Once you click the link, you will have access to your subscriber account. You can log in by visiting www.PodOpsHost.com.

Dashboard Tab

You’re currently on the dashboard. You want to click on Import Podcast in the left navigation to begin. The page will refresh and present you with a field to paste in your RSS Feed URL from your current podcast host. Paste in the URL and click on Search Podcast.

Your podcast will appear, confirm it’s the correct podcast and the episode count looks accurate, and then click Import Podcast to start the process.

Import Options

Option 1: Do you want to import these podcast episodes into your existing PodOps Host podcast?

NOTE: If you created an account from AppSumo, use this option.

Important: This is a legacy plan feature and is not available to new podcast hosting plans created after April 15, 2024.

Selecting this option will allow you to import episodes into a podcast you’ve already created on PodOps. After clicking Yes you will see a dropdown to select from any existing podcasts you’ve created with us.

Option 2: Do you want to import these podcast episodes as a new PodOps Host podcast with the same name?

Selecting this option will allow you to import your podcast, exactly as it is, same name and all, from your current podcast hosting service.

Option 3: Do you want to import these podcast episodes as a new PodOps Host podcast with a new name?

Selecting this option will allow you to give your existing show a fresh new name. After clicking Yes, a Podcast Name field will appear, allowing you to create a new name for your podcast.

Once you make your selection, click Import. This can take a few minutes depending on how many episodes you’re importing. Once complete, you’ll see your podcast on the Podcast Dashboard.

IMPORTANT NOTE: By default your podcast imports as a free account. You are not required to upgrade, but it’s important to be aware that your content will delete after 30 days on the Free Plan. If you want to retain your content, you can select a plan in your Profile (upper right corner) at any time.

Your content has now migrated and you can click Manage to start editing your episodes and uploading new content. Happy Creating!

Redirecting Your Podcast

We advise waiting up to 48 hours before you submit any redirect requests to your former host. This ensures everything has been properly transferred. Once you submit a redirect request to your host, if there are errors in the transfer process, you may lose episodes.

Unpublished and Scheduled Episodes

If you have episodes in the hosting platform you are migrating away from that are unpublished or scheduled at the time of migration, be sure to confirm they migrate over with your published episodes. It is not uncommon for these to be skipped as they don’t always appear in your RSS Feed and may require you manually move them by importing them into PodOps.
